A community that works together can be a powerful force for positive change. In 2014 and again in 2018, I was honoured to be elected as CVRD Director for the Cowichan Station/Sahtlam/Glenora electoral area. I am committed to working with the community for a better future, and I hope you will join me.
Each of us has one voice in our community, and working together is key to solving problems and getting things done. Working together requires listening, putting aside differences, keeping an open mind, and sharing information.
Local governments need to team up with communities. There are many active, engaged, people and not-for-profit organizations with important knowledge and ideas for shaping the region. We need to draw upon their wisdom and expertise and support their energy.
When making decisions at the Board table we are tasked to think regionally - that requires a desire to work collaboratively with all the jurisdictions in the regional district to solve problems and get things done.
