Who am I?

My husband Rodger and I bought our small farm in Cowichan Station in 1985 - a dream come true. I love the Cowichan Valley, the rural life, and the people. It has been a fabulous place to raise our children and grow food.

My work with the HUB and the Cowichan Station Area Association, and the friendships that grew from that work, led me to put my skills and energy into working for the larger region.

My background is in biology, ecology, and administration. I worked for the BC government for several years before Rodger and I founded a management consultant business. Some of our most rewarding work was in supporting the Cowichan Watershed Board, of which I am a huge fan!

In 2014 I was honoured to become the Director for Electoral Area E. I've learned lots in four years including the importance of:

  • using the skills and expertise offered by community leaders and volunteers

  • asking uncomfortable questions to avoid complacency

  • accounting for the real costs of services to stabilize taxes

  • building meaningful relationships with First Nations

  • listening and learning about all sides of issues

My mission is to work with you to build a community where there is an opportunity for everyone to prosper, that leads in sustainable development and environmental protection, and that is supported by a dynamic regional government that works hard and works for everyone. I will seek community input and work to make the process as inclusive as possible. I hope you will join me.
